2020 FRES Bus Safety Video
Having students watch a detailed evacuation video would meet the requirement for the evacuation drills given the pandemic. This will only be approved until things return to “normal” and offers the best method of keeping kids safe. I have located 3 video links that do a good job explaining evacuations. All three are not required but just give some options. I also have no objection to companies creating their own video if they want to make things more fun using their own buses and drivers. I would just ask that they forward a copy so we can ensure it covers the required information (Explain and show how to use all exits such as opening the roof hatches and side windows and actually demonstrating rear door procedures etc).
What to do after exiting the bus is also important.Reporting of completed evacuation drills/video review will still be required on or before October 15, 2020.
