    Art Attack!

    Get ready for an Art Attack! Have you ever wondered what it must have been like for Michelangelo to paint a ceiling laying on his back? Or to splatter paint the floor like Pollock? Each week we will feature a different artist from history and create artwork in their style! Drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking.

    Movies, Movies, Movies!

    We will work as a group to create a movie.  We will decide on a story, make the characters and the scenes with markers and paper and then we will take pictures of our story to put on the computer.

    Builders & Creators

    Welcome builders, creators, and everyone who likes to likes to try new things!  Each week we will use a new material to build, create, and bring ideas to life.  For example, one week we will build and use legos.  Another week we use playdough.  Many weeks the materials will be a surprise!  Come join us for some creating fun!

    Building to Save the World

    Help! Batman has lost his batmobile! Can you build him a new one out of legos? The big bad wolf blew down the pig’s house! Can you build them a house out of big cardboard bricks? Have you heard that there might be a ninth planet? Build a new planet out of playdough! Each week we will be working with a new material to solve the problems of the world!

    Puppet Theater

    Come learn how to make different kinds of puppets and then create your own style. Use your imagination to create a story for you puppet to perform. Then let’s share our creations with each other!

    Animated Movie Making

    Are you good at learning new games and tools on the computer?   We will work with Movie Maker and you will learn to make your super idea come alive with movement on the computer. This is called animation.  You will then make a plan and create an animated super movie on the computer.  The movie can tell a story about a hero or what makes you super or it can even be a message about how you and your fellow students can help the community.

    Games of Knowledge & Strategy

    Are you interested and enjoy playing games?  If you are, then this is the group for you!  In this group we will learn and play games that require knowledge, strategy, or just plain luck.  We look at what details go into creating a great game.  You will then have the opportunity to create your own game and share with the group!

    Puppet Theater Two

    If you like to create and be dramatic, come create a puppet or two. The put your mind to work creating a story,a song,or a skit for your puppet to perform. Think about scenery too. Let us then share our creations with each other!

    BOOM! CRASH! CRASH! BOOM!

    How does the song in your head sound? Does it sound like tubes banging on the floor or a thunder storm? Maybe you hear african drums or waves crashing on the beach. At this enrichment we will learn how to compose a song on a different instrument every week. Come write songs using boomwhackers, xylophones, drums and ukuleles!

     

    Fall 2015:

    Super Art

    Are you good at designing and building with your hands? You can use your artistic skills to create a super hanging mobile (like the one in the art room, but focuses on how you are super instead of animals). What powers or special skills do you have? You can construct a shield using cardboard, paint, and found objects to let others know what makes you super!

    Puppet Fun

    Would you like to be a super puppet and puppeteer like the Muppets? In this course you can use your imagination to create a super puppet ( using many kinds of materials),  then create a story adventure for your puppet to perform . When you are finished you can entertain a group of  friends and family with your creation.

    Super Music

    Are you super at music? There are many ways to be a hero. Use your imagination to create a super theme song with your voice or instruments. Make an instrument for your hero to use while saving the world. Be your own hero and create music that will help inspire others to serve their community

    Are you good at learning new games and tools on the computer?  You will learn 2 different ways to make your super idea come alive with movement on the computer. This is called animation.  You will then make a plan and create an animated super movie on the computer.  The movie can tell a story about a hero or what makes you super or it can even be a message about how you and your fellow students can help the community.

    Super Hero, Super Story

    Everyone has a superpower and a super story.  What is yours?  You will introduce your own superhero to the world.  Using your imagination you create your super hero’s story.  You can share your super story through a comic strip, story, play, or create your own way to introduce your super hero to the world!

    Circus, Circus

    You can’t run away with the circus, but you can take a course in circus performing. Course 6 will feature a variety of circus skills including juggling, Chinese Yo-Yo, juggling sticks, stilts, spinning plates, balancing peacock feathers, acrobatics, balance boards, and more. You will learn circus tricks, and how to create your own circus act. Your act will be featured in a circus performance!

    Super Crafting Mania:

    Do you enjoying putting your imagination to work creating things?  This course will give you the opportunity to create using many kinds of materials, like beads,, fabric, paper, yarn, boxes, packing peanuts,, you come up with something to use.) Maybe you lean towards puppets, scrapbooking, cartooning, storytelling through book making, illustrating as examples. Let us think together how you’d like to show off your creativity. Your projects will go on display somewhere in the school for all to see and take your creation to share your with a community group.
